Our Team

Profit Plus Consulting Limited was founded by Richard Barrett and Andrew Jones to deliver distinctive consulting and advisory services to a wide variety of different organisations. The core ProfitPlus team comprises:

Richard Barrett BA(Hons), FCA, MIMC, CMC

Richard is a Chartered Accountant with eighteen years of consulting and business advisory experience with Coopers & Lybrand, PwC Consulting, IBM Business Consulting Services and ProfitPlus. Prior to his consulting career Richard held senior positions in retail organisations. Today, Richard specialises in working with organisations to improve their performance and profitability through using a variety of strategic cost management, performance improvement and process re-engineering techniques. He is an experienced project manager, leading financial management and profit / process improvement consultancy assignments across a wide range of commercial, public sector and not-for-profit organisations, ranging from medium sized organisations to multinationals. He has particular experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, food manufacturing and service sectors.

Andrew Jones BCom(Acc), FCA, MIMC

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and then enjoyed 10 years at Coopers & Lybrand, providing a wide range of business advisory services to SME and Middle Market clients.  During this time, his experience included secondments to The Further Education Funding Council and Coopers & Lybrand's office in Kampala, Uganda.  Since leaving Coopers & Lybrand, Andrew has specialised in working with his clients to help shape their strategic direction and improve their performance and profitability.  He has particular experience in the professional services and not-for-profit sectors, as well as the more general SME arena.  He often develops a long-term relationship with his clients who are looking for sound independent advice and ongoing external support with the growth of their business.

Mike Ader B.Sc, MCIM

Mike has 25 years client-side experience in consumer goods sales, marketing & customer service across manufacturing, foodservice/on-trade wholesale, retail and packaging with such companies such as Heinz, RHM, Kraft, Matthew Clark, Somerfield, Glanbia and Avro Industries, over half of which at Divisional  Board  level. In the last few years he has worked with businesses ranging from SMEs to major blue-chip organisations delivering business strategy, sales, marketing & customer management projects and also account managing a cross-section of other Business Improvement assignments. Through clear thinking, robust planning, effective action and meaningful reviews he has a strong record of helping deliver better performance across a wide range of organisations, in both the B2C and B2B arenas.

Bill Acres B.Sc(Econ), CMILT

Bill is an experienced consultant operating in Supply Chain Management and improvement. He specialises in project management, industrial engineering, bid management, procurement, productivity improvement and training. Prior to his consulting career Bill was a Director & Senior Logistics Manager with a strong track record over 20 years in business development, operational, commercial, and expert professional roles across a variety of industry sectors, always improving quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness. His sector experience spans pharmaceutical, food, entertainment, automotive, FMCG and high tech businesses from both an own account and third party logistics perspective. He also holds a number of senior roles in his professional organisation, The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. 

Tracy Gill BCom, ACA

Tracy is an experienced Chartered Accountant with seven years accounting and advisory experience gained in a variety of roles at Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  An experienced trainer specialising in accountancy skills training for six years, Tracy has in recent years moved into consultancy. She has delivered a broad range of process improvement and cost reduction assignments for client organisations ranging from SMEs to quoted PLCs, with client organisations in the not-for-profit, retail and public sectors.

In addition to the team above, ProfitPlus has a number of associate relationships with experienced consulting professionals with whom it works to meet specific client assignment needs.
